Enigin Training

Industrial companies put a lot of effort into “asset integrity” — which really just means protecting critical plants and machinery from damage and wear and tear, and anyone trained in a manufacturing environment learns that asset integrity is a top priority.

But does this apply to other businesses? Businesses where the only assets are the people who work there? Surely they should worry about asset integrity, too?

At Enigin we value the assets we have - our staff and the active distributors around the world.

Conference Calls - Training is Vital

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

By Steve Hill

Conference calls are becoming a main stay for businesses according to research conducted by mobile headset-maker Plantronics.

The research discovered that office workers are spending an average of three hours more a week on the phone than they did just 12 months ago.

It appears this maybe partly economic — 40 per cent of those in the survey stated that they needed to cut spending and this had led them to use conference calls, plus an environmental element.

54 percent of businesses felt heir calls were not as effective as they could be, often due to a lack of etiquette — with late joiners, heavy breathers, disappearing acts half-way through a conversation.

So the question is how can Enigin Distributors improve things in their energy saving business?

Consider these points:

Enigin Training - KISS the Basics

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

TRAINING and ongoing training is at the core of succesful businesses today, but sometime we need to be reminded of what we learned during a training session and remember those initial lessons and the basics that we took on board.

At Enigin we train new Distributors in many ways, but when you boil it down it is basic stuff, but lessons that people have never learned or at the very least they have forgotten the main points.

If we have an experienced entrepreneur at the residential Enigin Training course, they will nod knowingly and often have the right answers to questions. They know this stuff, but generally they will admit that they have forgotten most of what they are learning or re-learning, and they are certainly learning it in a new way.

Training Defines the Person

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

Wikipedia gives the following definition of training:

The term training refers to the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies. It forms the core of apprenticeships and provides the backbone of content at institutes of technology (also known as technical colleges or polytechnics). In addition to the basic training required for a trade, occupation or profession, observers of the labor market recognize today the need to continue training beyond initial qualifications: to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout working life. People within many professions and occupations may refer to this sort of training as professional development.

This certainly fits in with the Mindshare Training course that Enigin provide for all their new Distributors at their headquarters in Cornwall, UK.

Enigin Technical Know How

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

MOST Enigin Distributors come to the Mindshare Training at the start of their path to running their own energy saving business and are relieved that the training is not too technical.

They expect to start learning deep technical details about power factors and three phases, motor controlling and many other scientific or engineering points regarding energy management. Generally they are relieved that they get introduced to energy saving and power processes but not too deeply.

They learn how to run a successful business, with those who are technically minded at first surprised and then delighted to learn something new but vital as they set out to run their Distributorship.

Enigin Distributors Delighted with Training

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

Last week saw delegates, new Distributors, from around the globe attend the latest residential training course at Enigin PLC’s head quarters in the UK.

They all seemed delighted with the training they received and looked forward to getting back to their territories to start running their businesses.

They found the commercial aspect to the training very useful and then were able to add a little bit of technical knowledge regarding Enigin’s range of energy saving products.

Enigin Training - Quiet at the back….

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

DO you recall those time at school when suddenly everything went quiet and suddenly your private chat with your buddy next to you could be heard by the whole class?

More importantly the teacher had heard what you were saying, and in fact was often the one who had stopped talking when they realised you were not paying attention but were talking in class. Your sudden realisaton and embarrassed apologies could be enough, or for me was a step too far and meant further punishment for talking in class yet again!

As you get older surely these sorts of practices disappear, to an extent anyway. I do know there can be cultural differences, where in some societies no one takes any notices as a presenter talks on despite the majority of his audience carry on their own conversation with no one seeming to care.

Did I Mention Mentoring

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

When we think of training we think of the classroom, real or virtual, and a trainer, but one of the most successful forms of corporate training in recent years is the development of mentoring.

Mentoring is an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers. It is a partnership between two people (mentor and mentee) normally working in the same department or sharing similar experiences. It is a helpful relationship based upon mutual trust and respect.

Train to Gain

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

It is easy to go on in  he same routine, making the same successes and the same mistakes.

That is why training is vital - we are never to old to learn, and the pooling of ideas of methods provides a more rounded view of a matter and added to our own experiences helps us to gain skills, not lose them.

I would say it is very rare, in fact probably never, that you attend some training where you can say, I didn’t learn anything new. Even is the subjects and methodology are similar you will usually learn a new take or angle on it - adding to what you know.

Training Never Ends

posted by enigin in Enigin Posts

“YOU are never too old to learn.”

So the saying goes - I know some people it doesn’t apply as they were too old to learn when they were children!

For the majority of us the adage is true and during training at Enigin it is heart warming to hear expressions from people to back it up.

Often attendees will say such things as : “I have been in sales all my working life but I truly learned some new things this week,” or “I have run several businesses but the information I have now learnt are new and truly amazing.”
